What is MSCYPAA?
The Massachusetts State Convention of Young People in Alcoholics Anonymous meets Annually. This annual convention provides an opportunity for AA’s from all over the state, region, and the world to come together and share their experience, strength, and hope as members of AA. MSCYPAA provides a safe space for alcoholics to come together and show that we do recover and can have fun doing it. It is proven by the amount of people that attend the convention each year. Like any other convention, it is an opportunity to learn about the program and sobriety.
Its function of AA members in accordance with GSO Guidelines for the conferences and conventions that allows for heavy participation in service aspects of the convention by newer and / or younger Massachusetts members, providing exposure to the 12 traditions, 12 concepts of the world service , service committees, giving back, and convention of AA members - all vital components of the attraction that keeps coming back.
Members of MSCYPAA and other young people groups and conferences are in no way separate from AA as a whole . Members are involved in and committed to all levels of AA service from the group level to the General service Conference and at every level in between. Newcomers are shown, by people their own age, that using AA principles in their daily lives and getting involved in AA service can lead to a lasting and fulfilling lifestyle.
